EPDs
In 2016, we were the first CMU manufacturer on the East Coast to have 3rd party verified EPDs for each one of our individual mix designs – that’s almost 400 EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations).
Having an EPD for each one of our mix designs establishes an impact indicator baseline for our mix designs and our manufacturing process. We were able to see how raw material choices affected our impacts, and how improvements to our manufacturing process directly lowered them.
Looking critically at our EPD results, we’re able to see the areas where we can make real improvements, and also areas that don’t help as much as we thought. In addition, they provide a solid direction for future improvements at our facility.
HPDs
We have LEED V4 Compliant HPDs (HEALTH PRODUCT DECLARATIONS) for our structural and architectural CMU.
